After recapitalizing with Concert Golf, MacGregor Downs Country Club now experiences easier decision-making from professional owners.
“We’ve had a very good transition,”
says Russ Curtis, MacGregor Downs Former General Manager.
“Members do not have anxiety. We’ve satisfied the capital needs. The debt is taken care of, and there’s no risk of any assessments.”
Pivoting to a golf management company has allowed the team at Golf Club of Amelia Island to focus more on their resort side of operations and ensure their golf club stays current.
“Things really happen a lot quicker here for us. It doesn’t have to go down the line, it doesn’t have to be communicated to friends, it doesn’t have to have a vote,”
says David DeMay, The Golf Club of Amelia Island General Manager.
“The approval process is much quicker, and I think that’s important. Members see action.”
When approached by Concert Golf about becoming their long-term successor, the owners at The Club at Longview were confident the boutique owner-operator would continue their long-term vision.
“Concert Golf is an extraordinarily well-capitalized group with a strong, consistent track record and has agreed to meet all of my expectations regarding our excellent club staff and members, along with my commitment to premier golf course conditions and club operations,”
says former owner of The Club at Longview, Mel Graham.
